Your account
Play The Portal is operated by Go Maximus. These Terms govern Play The Portal and its Summer Soccer and other portal experiences. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, use the service with permission and guidance from a parent or legal guardian. Give accurate information, keep your credentials and access codes private, and report unauthorized account use to support@playtheportal.com. Email verification confirms control of your email; it is not a background check or proof of athletic eligibility.
Players, coaches and portal access
An account initially participates in one sport and one role, Player or Coach. Players build profiles and select opportunities they are interested in. Coaches must accurately describe their role, team, affiliation and recruiting needs, follow their governing body’s eligibility, recruiting and contact rules, and use player information only for legitimate recruiting. Do not act as an agent or negotiate on another user’s behalf through the service. Verify athlete eligibility and league or school requirements independently. Play The Portal hosts user-initiated recruiting activity; it is not a player agent, employer or a party to player-team agreements. Portal membership and coach access rules determine which profiles and features you may use. Joining one portal does not automatically grant access to another. We may review, limit or suspend access for safety, misuse or inaccurate representations.
Recruiting and contact
A coach can express interest and a player can accept or decline. Contact details are released only when the application’s mutual-acceptance requirements are satisfied. Do not scrape, export for unrelated marketing, sell or redistribute private contact information. You are responsible for communications and agreements made outside the platform, including roster, housing, travel, compensation and eligibility arrangements. Respect a player’s decision to decline and involve a parent or guardian when arranging contact with a minor.
Your profile and uploaded content
You keep ownership of your photos, videos and other content. You give us permission to host, process and display the content as needed to operate your profile and the service, consistent with your portal access and visibility choices. Only submit content you have the right to share. Obtain permission before adding another person’s name, reference, phone number, email or image. Keep statistics, school information, awards, availability and signing status accurate. Do not upload unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, misleading or infringing content.
Matching and opportunities
AI Match and other fit indicators use available player preferences and team needs to help organize recruiting. They are decision aids, not guarantees or final decisions about talent, eligibility or suitability. Coaches and players should independently confirm details. We do not guarantee profile views, contact, recruitment, a roster place, a scholarship, an offer or a contract. Historical outcomes describe past results and do not predict an individual result.
Free allowances and one-time purchases
Creating an account is free. Coaches receive 50 free Likes per rolling 30-day cycle across their active Portals; unused free Likes do not carry forward. Players receive three lifetime starter applications across their Portals. Additional Likes and applications are optional one-time purchases; unused purchased credits carry forward while the account remains eligible. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot bypass eligibility, visibility, safety or contact rules. Prices, quantity, currency and applicable charges are shown before payment. These feature packs do not renew automatically and do not create a subscription. An application shows interest; it does not share contact details, guarantee a reply or secure a place.
Boost and Spotlight
Boost and Spotlight change the rotation of eligible profile cards in the selected Portal for the displayed period, normally seven days. Spotlight has limited concurrent spaces. Filters, membership, publication and eligibility still apply, and promoted cards are labeled. Paid placement does not change an AI Match score or guarantee impressions, views, replies, selection, contact, recruitment, scholarships or contracts. A scheduled purchase shows its start and end dates; the period begins when the placement activates. If you hide your profile, leave a Portal or become ineligible, placement may stop being visible. Check eligibility and the offer before buying.
Player applications and profile introductions
Coach application signup includes receiving player applications and profile-introduction emails for the sport and Portals the coach joins, as clearly described at signup. Existing coaches can choose to enable introductions. Coaches may turn introduction emails off under Profile Settings → Email preferences or use the unsubscribe link; ordinary account, security and application-status notices are separate. A player purchases an introduction, reviews the eligible audience count and explicitly submits with an optional message of up to 200 characters. The audience is eligible, verified coaches in the same sport, program and Portal who have agreed to receive introductions and have not unsubscribed. Eligibility is checked again before delivery, so the final recipient count can be lower. Introductions are limited to one purchase per 30 days. Payment does not send the email automatically. After you submit, introductions enter a first-in, first-out queue. Delivery is attempted from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, one player campaign at a time, with at least an hour between campaigns. Queue volume, eligibility, provider failures or safety review can delay delivery. Players may include a short coach-specific fit note based on documented position and playing-level overlaps. This automated note is a factual matching aid, not a talent assessment or recruiting guarantee. Players can turn it off before submitting. Missing matches produce no fit note. Each recipient message is fixed on its first delivery attempt so retries do not change it. The message includes a rendered recruiting-card image, a highlight or video link when supplied, and an authenticated profile link; it does not disclose private contact details. Do not include phone numbers, email addresses, social handles or another person’s private information in the message. Email provider acceptance is not a guarantee of inbox placement, reading, response or recruitment.
Payments, delivery and refunds
Stripe processes card and other available payment methods. The merchant and final amount are identified during Checkout and on the payment receipt. We add benefits after a verified paid receipt, including delayed payment methods; a return page alone does not confirm payment. If confirmation is delayed, check your purchase status before paying again. Contact support@playtheportal.com with your order identifier about duplicate charges, unavailable benefits or a purchase problem. Refunds and remedies follow applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the purchase; these Terms do not remove mandatory rights. Refunded or disputed unused credits and undelivered benefits can be suspended or removed without deleting recruiting history. Delivered introductions and already-used or elapsed benefits may require manual review. A successful dispute reversal can restore remaining unused benefits. We do not resend campaigns to resolve a payment dispute.
Parents, minors and purchases
Users must be at least 13, and users under 18 must participate with parent or guardian permission and guidance. A parent helping a child follows the Player journey using the child’s accurate playing information; Parent is not a separate recruiting role. For a player purchase, the adult player or parent or guardian paying must confirm their authority before Checkout. Minors must not buy features using someone else’s payment method without permission. This payer confirmation is an attestation, not identity verification or a background check. Help your child review public profile fields, any introduction message and proposed off-platform contact. Contact privacy@playtheportal.com about a child’s account or data.
Acceptable use and safety
Do not impersonate others, harass users, bypass access controls, misuse accounts, attempt unauthorized access or interfere with the service. Report safety concerns, suspicious recruiting, privacy concerns or content that violates these Terms. We may remove content or restrict accounts to protect users, enforce these Terms or comply with law. We cannot verify every user statement or monitor every communication.
Changes, acceptance and account closure
You can update your profile and use account settings to request account deletion. Deletion and retained records are described in the Privacy Policy. We keep versioned copies and acceptance records. Material changes affecting purchases or introduction participation require a fresh acceptance before those actions; signup and purchase checkboxes are not preselected. We may change or interrupt features and will provide notice of material changes where required. Account deletion does not itself reverse a payment or remove records we must retain for accounting, safety or disputes. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without guarantees of uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of user-provided content. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, remedies or responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Questions and disputes

If a problem arises, contact us with the relevant details so we can try to resolve it. These Terms do not waive mandatory consumer protections or impose mandatory arbitration.
